ACIP: The Release is a Go!

One of the most exciting happenings this term at DM has been the Enlightenment Management course and its corresponding project. In an attempt to incorporate principals of karma and emptiness to business much of Diamond Mountain became a production machine. The task: the prepare and release 450,000 pages of digitized Buddhist wisdom. Oh, and to make sure it is all freely available to the world at no cost.

Unleashing these searchable texts has been the sole purpose of the Asian Classics Input Project (ACIP) for the past two decades. In honor of these 20 years we have all been a part of this huge undertaking, ACIP Release VI, which will be available on March 20th on DVD and from the internet. For the first time ACIP will be including not only Tibetan, but English translations as well, expanding the audience from just Tibetan scholars to any English speaker interested in these precious books.

The official release will be followed by a proper ACIP Release party in New York City on March 23rd.

We did it. Well done everyone.

Mid-Term Party, Proof

This evening, tsechu, was the Winter term Mid-Term celebration. The events were once again held in the big city, Willcox (pop. 3700). Dinner was held at Salsa Fiesta, a place that always treat us well and we overwhelm with vegetarian orders and hopefully good tips. Dinner was followed by a movie at the Rex Allen Theater. We hijacked the cinema and watched the film Proof (which I enjoyed). Everyone had a great time again. Now all are recharged (yeah, right) for the rest of the term and all the great things we are doing at DM. Thanks to Venerable Gyelse for once again organizing a killer celebration.

There are a few pics from the dinner. I think you may enjoy them.

W07 Downloadables

As you may know Diamond Mountain University's Winter term 2007 has begun. "That's nice, Evan," you say, "but I'm not at DM." And I reply, "but you can still learn from the great courses here. You can download the course materials!"

We're doing our best to get class audio, readings, homeworks, etc. up online as soon as possible for the growing number of cyber-commuters out there on the internet. If you didn't know, goodies from every DM term are available from DMES.org, and this term is no exception. Even some of the new courses, like Enlightened Business Management and Cultivating Joyful Effort, are ready for your listening pleasure. So don't be bummed that you aren't here. Make the most of your technological leisure and fortune by working from home.
