Spring Term Begins

That's right. Spring Term 2005 began on Monday and everyone is already working very hard. Some new things this term are:

  • A new debate ground. Temple construction has resumed so debates are now being held in the Jamyang House courtyard. Last night was the first of the term and it was a hot one.
  • More students than ever. DMU continues to grow and classes have swelled, some even doubled.
  • 3 Community Service Days. As a result of last term's successful work-day we will be having 3 this term. April 4th, 12th, and 23rd.
  • A green desert. Well, greener than the previous terms at least. Winter rains have brought wild flowers and grass all over the Sonora.

More pictures to come soon. Until then you can check out the photos on Flickr.

Special Gifts

I thought I'd offer up these two gifts in honor of the beginning of Diamond Mountain University's Spring Term.
I found these photos at the DM Lama House, scanned them, and printed a few for people. Since then I've gotten numerous requests to make the digital copies available so anyone who wants can have. Both pictures are from about the same time. Geshe Michael (pre-Geshe) was teaching debate to children and these photos were collected in a grant proposal for the program.

Reporting from Bowie

Activites at and near Diamond Mountain have begun to pick up again. Yesterday work resumed on building on the DM temple. Bert is heading the crew and we're happy to have him for the job. Hands are getting cut, mud is being thrown about, muscles are sore. It's great to see and be part of. And as for muscles being sore, Eric has been teaching the Yoga of Mahamudra at Three Jewels, Bowie. If you have a chance to learn the new asana I highly recmmonded it.

I'll try to post some pictures from the events in Tucson next week while I'm there. Check back throughout the week for updates.

Spring Term Registration

DMU Spring Term registration is now available and this term you can register online (thanks to Andrea)... so no excuses. Click here to go to the DMU page.

Bets spent a long time getting this ready and we all owe her a big thanks and hug for being our registrar. I'm sitting at her place at 3:30 AM watching her work on this stuff with great joy.

So go register!
