Upcoming in Tucson

I'm sorry to do this to you, but I will be out of commission for the next four weeks. That means no updates until mid-April. It's painful, I'm sure, but retreats are an important part of this path and I must do it (I'm also quite pleased to do it). But I will not leave you readers in the dark. As of today, here is what is planned for Tucson, pre-Spring term.
  1. Spiritual Partners IV: April 14 and 15, 7:00 - 9:00 PM, location still unknown. The fourth installation of the Spiritual Partners series on how to a) get a partner, b) keep them, and c) be happy with them, all using the principles of karma and emptiness. This will most likely be continued with further studies of Arya Nagarjuna's String of Precious Jewels. Previous teachings' audio available at DMES.org.
  2. Geshe Michael, Christie McNally, and Krishna Das: April 16, 2006 - I have no idea what this is about but it's slated. If you are unfamiliar with him, Krishna Das is well known kirtan singer and chanter as well as teacher in numerous spiritual tradtionas. Sounds exciting.
  3. Yoga Studies Institute, Tibetan Heart Yoga Series IV: April 16 - 19, the fourth in an amazing yoga series that includes ancient practices that have not been seen publicly in hundreds of years - more info here.
Stay posted to the events page of the Diamond Mountain website for updates.

See you soon.

Learn the Tibetan Alphabet by Video

Now you can learn the basics of Tibetan the way nature intended, in front of a computer. These two videos were recorded in 1998 and teach total beginners how to pronounce, recognize, and read Tibetan. They are outstanding. I've been studying Tibetan for four-ish years and I've never seen a better resource for Tibetan beginners. The videos are so good that I even recommend more advanced Tibetan students to go back a watch these every month just to make sure your foundation is strong.

I've uploaded these two large files to Archive.org where you can either download them or stream them. Here are the links to the web page for each:
