Fall Term 2005 Begins

So the second year of Diamond Mountain University has officially begun. The temple, which is still under construction, is functioning and today we had our first classes in the new building. Just as the very first class was about to begin a sudden rainstorm hit and quickly moved on leaving us with numerous rainbows right in the campground. It was pretty cool.

Khensur Rinpoche's Visit

This morning Gyumey Khensur Rinpoche made a special visit to DM. He walked around, checked out the temple and stupa, said some prayers, and even did a short question-and-answer session. It was a great pleasure to have Rinpoche, Geshe Dargye, and Venerable Shaun Brannan.

Whoa, Tucson.

That's right, everyone's in Tucson and it's been a wild time so far. His Holiness the Dalai Lama has been teaching every day and the events have been great. Yesterday he covered meditation from Stages of Meditation and then began talking about equalizing and exchanging self with other from A Guide to the Bodhisattva's Way of Life. You can actually see the video at Lam Rim . com.

Also, Gyumey Khensur Rinpoche, the former abbot of Gyumey Tantra College taught the first two verses from The Source of All My Good. Tomorrow, Monday morning at 10 AM, Rinpoche will be performing a ceremony over the new DM temple. Then we come back to Tucson and get to hear the second installment of teachings on spiritual partners by Geshe Michael and Christie. Following that, we all go back to DM and begin Fall Term. Wow.

It's About that Time

I'm back and so happy to be home in Bowie after a wonderful world tour. In the month and a half I was gone, I missed a lot. Most apparent of which is the temple. It is amazing what a great job the crew has been doing. And with a final push it will be functional for Fall Term. Check out some photos. Sorry about the spots, shooting in low light is strange.

And, there's a lot coming up very soon. YSI is doing teacher training. His Holiness the Dalai Lama is going to teach in Tucson. And Geshe Michael and Christie will be teaching The Godess Code. Not to mention that DMU begins Fall Term September 22!

See you there.
