Bowie Power Station Possible?

Ever since moving to Bowie, AZ three years ago (Diamond Mountain's closest village) I've heard rumors of a coal-burning Bowie power station. There even stands a sign just north of the town which proclaims "Future home of Bowie power station. Estimated completion date: 2006." Building never began. But there are new rumors about the plant in our fair town.

Venerable Jigme has been doing some research on the pros and cons of such a station in the region. She has started blogging about her findings in an effort to inform us about what's shakin' in Bowie town. Check out the blog and take some action if you are inclined. A Southwest Power Company representative will be available to meet with residents on August 13th (see other blog for more details).

We owe it to the community.
