Service Day 06-01

06-01? For those not familiar with the DM labeling system (no, I don't mean mental images), 06-01 means term 6, event 1. In this case the first service day of term 6. Projects included building trails for the three year retreat. Working on a retreat dome, and dismantling a yurt. Not only was it a great work day, but we concluded the work with dinner and a community meeting. The main topic of the meeting was water in the desert. Bart Hiatt spoke about our situation and what we can do about it. His ideas are many and detailed. He's posted oodles of information on his website. And Bart is looking for help, so send him an email, bart@bartswindow.com. We also got an update on the next building at DM, the student union. Designs are already being finalized!

The next Service Day is this Tuesday and will be followed by the mid-term party in Willcox, dinner and a movie.
