Memorizing the Heart Sutra
Spring Term has begun and with it another round of study, debate, new meditations, and memorization. Over the past two terms students of Bok Jinpa IV and V have been charged with the task of memorizing the Heart Sutra, either in Tibetan or Sanskrit. This term, in Bok Jinpa VI, we will complete the task. As memorization aids I'm posting audio files of this sutra being chanted in both language. The Sanskrit, which is sung by Shri Mangala, made its internet debut in a previous post. And the Tibetan, I've just uploaded. It is a recording of the monks of Sera Mey Monastery. I've done some editing and slowed down the speed of the chanting to make it easier to catch the rapid Tibetan. Of course, you are wlecome to these files even if you have no intention of memorizing the Heart Sutra. I think they are just nice to listen to.
