Bagged Earth House

This is the first of hopefully many bagged earth houses to get started. This layout is a single room intended for retreat purposes. The idea is to build around 30 of these cottages over the next couple years scattered around DM's 1000 acres for people to do their retreats. For more info on the technology check out Cal-Earth.

wow! Your endeaver is impressive. They look really great from the outside and very cozy when all set up inside, though a bit drab when empty. How are they kept warm? They have a rather teepee feel.
Where is DM (I'm thinking DesMoines but can that be right?) Anyway, thanks for posting such a cool thing.

DM is in the high desert of southeast Arizona, near Bowie. A great location. The bagged-earth house have yet to be used in the winter so heating has not been an issue. However somebody will be doing a retreat in it very soon and she plans to take a propane heater with her.
